SugarCRM® and SIOS® Announce Partnership

SugarCRM and SIOS to demonstrate the use of the cloud to reach “five nines” of availability at Sugarcon 2010.

Tokyo, Japan, and Cupertino, CA (PRWEB) April 13, 2010

SIOS Technology, Inc. (TYO:3744), a leading provider of Web application software and data center infrastructure; and SugarCRM, the world’s leading provider of open source customer relationship management (CRM) software, today announced that they will be jointly showcasing how SugarCRM’s mission-critical business applications are leveraging the cloud for high availability (HA) and disaster recovery.

HA for SugarCRMTM, which is being demonstrated at SugarCon during the keynote address at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco today, allows administrators to install both their production application and an HA mirror on-premise in either a physical or virtual environment, or off-premise in the cloud. The HA technology from SIOS provides integrated services including application monitoring for the database, the SugarCRM application and its associated web server.

In the event of software or hardware failure, HA for SugarCRM assures that users are automatically failed over to a mirror instance of the system in real-time. This mirror can reside in a separate geographical location within the same cloud service provider, or a different cloud service provider. In order to achieve the highest levels of business continuity, all business and application data is replicated between the production and mirrored systems in real-time to ensure that data is not lost and users experience no disruption.

“This partnership is a direct result of what CIOs have been asking for – increased availability coupled with the flexibility, efficiency and economies associated with the cloud.” said Jim Kaskade, SIOS Chief of Cloud. “The combination of SIOS and SugarCRM technologies will provide both CRM and business continuity on demand.”

“The cloud has proven to be an effective way to reduce cost and complexity for businesses of all sizes” said Clint Oram, co-founder and vice president of products at SugarCRM. “With HA for SugarCRM, users can ensure total uptime for their mission critical CRM systems without spending significant resources on additional parallel infrastructure. They can simply rest assured knowing they will have secure access to their customer data and CRM system – anytime, anywhere.”

SugarCRM will be offering HA for SugarCRM in beta for customers starting immediately, with a target of making the release generally available later in 2010. Demonstrations of HA for SugarCRM will be held at the SIOS booth #201 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco April 12-14. A special session on “Why Enterprises Care about High Availability and Disaster Recovery with SugarCRM” will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13th at the conference.
