As a past founder and CEO of a Software As A Service for broadband and mobile video publishing, syndication, and monetization, I will always have an interest in how traditional media will evolve as next-generation consumers of content shift to the Internet and mobile platforms.

Broadband in analog video distribution refers to the traditional systems such as cable television, where the individual channels are modulated on carriers at fixed frequencies.

Broadband video in the context of streaming Internet video has come to mean digital video files that have bitrates high enough to require broadband Internet access in order to view them. Broadband video is also sometimes used to describe IPTV Video on demand.

Internet video was over one-third of all consumer Internet traffic by 2009 (when I sold Eyespot Video Network), and will now approach 82 percent of all internet traffic in 2021.
